Mosquito Activity (Scale from 0 to 5)

  • Mosquito activity is a 1 the city. Cool temperatures have helped to put the brakes on the mosquitoes. There are still some adult saltmarsh and Tiger mosquitoes around the city. In general, most mosquitoes cannot fly when temperatures are below 55°.

Surveillance

  • No traps were set this week due to low nigh time temperatures. Trapping is schedule for early next week with warmer temperatures in the forecast.
  • This week crews did not finding mosquitoes breeding in standing water. This indicates adult mosquito populations are not likely to increase any more this year.

Complaints

  • There were no complaint calls about mosquitoes this week.
