Purchase tickets immediately before the tour from the escort in period attire. It is recommended that flat, comfortable shoes be worn, as the walk is approximately one mile. Special tour times can be arranged for groups of 10 or more, with advanced notice. The Saturday night tour departs from the lobby of the Hawthorn Hotel & Suites at The Governor Dinwiddie, 506 Dinwiddie St.

 Winter Wonderland: The Coleman Collection

Description:
The Coleman Garden Nursery Yuletide displays began in the mid-1960s when then-owner, A. J. “Junie” Lancaster was inspired by the animated Disneyland exhibit at the New York World’s Fair. Coleman’s first figure was a snoring Santa. Over the years, several hundred figures were added to include animated elves, woodland creatures, Santa’s toy and candle-making factories, carolers, teddy bears, and animated circus with clowns and trapeze acts. A range of still and robotic displays from the Coleman Collection will be offered at the Courthouse Galleries for the holiday season. Opening night: Nov. 21 from 5 to 9 p.m. Courthouse Galleries, High and Court streets.

Description:
During the Scottish Walk, enjoy walking, pipe music, caroling and mini-concerts at Olde Towne restaurants and pubs. Pipe bands are welcome to join. Just wear your warmest woolens and plaids and join in the fun. Children’s storytelling, piping and drumming, and entertainment are also on tap. Enjoy the annual singing of "Auld Lang Syne" to welcome in the New Year, as in a Hogmanay celebration. Don’t forget to wear your tartans!
